A comparative study on the mechanism of development of postoperative diabetes mellitus after pancreatectomy (pancreatoduodenectomy vs distal pancreatectomy)

Seoul National University

2020

Seoul National University

The mechanism of diabetes may be different because the degree of loss of pancreatic parenchyma varies by type of surgery (pancreatoduodenectomy vs distal pancreatectomy). Therefore, pre- and postoperative glucose control evaluation and pancreatic cell function evaluation index are calculated and compared by type of surgery. The risk factors for diabetes according to the type of surgery were identified, and the changes before and after surgery and the mechanism of diabetes were studied.
