Message from the 11th President of the Korean Pancreas Surgery Club

Dear Esteemed Members,

I am Joon Seong Park from Seoul National University College of Medicine, and it is a great honor to serve as the 11th President of the Korean Pancreas Surgery Club (KPSC). It is a great privilege to take on this important role following the leadership of former President Prof. Jin-Young Jang, and I am delighted to share our vision for the future and discuss the direction of KPSC’s continued growth with all of you.
Over the next two years, I will strive to uphold the traditions of our society and advance the motto of my predecessor, “To the World, To the Future.” Building on this foundation, my goal is to elevate KPSC to become a globally recognized standard-setting organization in the field of pancreatic surgery. To achieve this, I will focus on the following key initiatives:

Advancement of the K-QIPS Project
With the active participation of our members, we will work toward the successful implementation of the Korean Quality Improvement Platform in Surgery (K-QIPS) initiative. By collecting nationwide data on pancreatic resections and developing validated, standardized treatment protocols, we aim to lead the establishment of international clinical standards.

Strengthening Education for the Next Generation
We will enhance educational programs for young pancreatic surgeons, supporting their academic and clinical development through structured training and resources. This will empower the next generation to lead both research and clinical practice at the highest level.

Promoting Multidisciplinary Collaboration
We will actively pursue joint research with related societies, including internal medicine and allied fields. Through multidisciplinary cooperation, we aim to position our society as a central force in shaping global standards in pancreatic disease management.

The progress we have made would not have been possible without your continued interest and engagement. As we move forward, I will continue to walk alongside our members, and whenever we face new challenges, I will do my utmost to advance KPSC, guided by your trust and support.
Thank you.

Joon Seong Park, M.D., Ph.D.
President, Korean Pancreas Surgery Club
